OUR DAUGHTER'S 1ST BIRTHDAY IN BOLINAO, PANGASINAN 🎉

Agatha turned one year old! Parang kahapon lang, we were holding her tiny fingers and she could barely lift her head tuwing tummy time. Ngayon, she's a little explorer discovering the world.

Cy and I decided not to have a big party for Agatha's first birthday. Tama na ung handaan last month para sa binyag nya. I really just wanted to celebrate with our little family and spend quality time together.


We booked a three-day, two-night stay at Puerto del Sol in Bolinao, Pangasinan. We've been there twice, once in 2019 and again last year. Malayo sya pero super worth it ang long drive because it's exclusive, tahimik and you can really relax and unwind.


We stayed in one of their Mansion Villas which included complimentary breakfasts. Binigyan din kami ng rubber slippers upon check-in and they provided bottled water and toiletries. We could also access the game room, and go kayaking for free.


Ber months na but it's really hot and humid during the day kaya when we arrived around 5 pm sa resort and settled in our room, pinaliguan ko agad si Agatha. Dinala ko talaga ung pink na palanggana nya para mas madali syang paliguan since hindi pa sya nakakatayo ng husto. Naligo din ako pagkatapos.


Around 7 PM nag dinner kami sa Cafe Del Sol, their in-house resto. Habang inaantay namin ung pagkain, kung san-san gusto maglakad ni Agatha. Cy and I took turns sa pagsama sa kanya. 


The next day we woke up early to eat breakfast, but since there were fewer guests, wala silang breakfast buffet. Pero they offered all you can drink coffee, tea, & juice. They would also serve fruit slices upon request. Nothing beats a morning with a good breakfast overlooking the ocean.


Nagdala ako ng 'happy birthday' banner and number 1 balloon para kay Agatha. I also brought a tape na safe idikit kung san-san. Unfortunately, hindi na kami nakabili ng cake.

It's been a year of parenthood, and we're glad we survived it mostly on our own.


Anyways, lumabas kami ng resort around noon para mag lunch sa Sungayan Grill along Balingasay River because it's one of those places in Bolinao na hindi dapat palagpasin. Pwede mag rent ng floating cottage and dine while sailing the river, or dun lang kumain sa stationary ones.


We ordered a bilao good for 2-3 persons. It consisted of pork liempo, calamares, hipon, crabs, steamed veggies, grilled pampano, rice & a pitcher of iced tea.

For me, hindi ka talaga mabibigo sa boodle bilao nila.


After our lunch at Sungayan Grill, nagpunta naman kami sa town proper to visit Saint James the Great Parish Church. We just prayed, took pictures and then left.


Pagbalik sa resort, Agatha and Cy took naps. Tumambay lang din ako sa kwarto until hindi na gaanong mainit sa labas.


At 4 PM pumunta na kami sa pool area para mag swimming. Buti may part sa kiddie pool na malilim kaya nakatambay si Agatha sa tubig. She was so happy splashing in the water. After half an hour pumunta naman kami sa infinity pool.



Kaya isa to sa mga go-to resorts namin in Bolinao, it's spacious, uncrowded, and serene. Madami din silang mga outdoor lounge areas kaya kahit lumabas ka ng kwarto you can still lie down to relax. May discreet music pa in the background.


Nag dinner kami sa Mangunguna Seafood Bar and Grill. Hindi na kami nag boodle, nag ulam lang kami ng sinigang na bangus at sisig. Bumili din ako ng homemade spiced vinegar nila para maiuwi sa bahay.



Cy had longganisa, ako naman corned beef with scrambled eggs. They also served fruits, coffee and juices. Pinakain ko na din ng kanin na may halong corned beef si Agatha. Yung scrambled egg naman hindi pa sya pwedeng tumikim ulit kasi the last time na pinakain ko sya ng boiled egg, nagka rashes sya sa mukha at katawan.


Right after breakfast nagpalit na agad kami ng pang swimming para makapagbabad sa dagat habang hindi pa gaanong mainit. Its shallow water is perfect for toddlers like Agatha. Yes, our daughter has reached toddlerhood!


Pagkatapos sa dagat, tumambay muna si Cy at Agatha sa swimming pool para makaligo na ako.
