A QUIET RETREAT AT DIWATA NATURE RESORT, SAN PABLO, LAGUNA

We were supposed to visit Diwata Nature Resort last month to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday kaso lang a few days before our trip, my husband’s nephew fell ill kaya we had to postpone. Then a day before the rescheduled staycation, nilagnat naman si Agatha. Nakakaloka. A day before talaga!?

Since we had to take Agatha to her pediatrician first thing in the morning, we just drove our own car. Pagkatapos ng check-up and urinalysis, dumiretso na kami sa Diwata Nature Resort in San Pablo, Laguna. Buti nalang talaga maaga clinic ng pedia ni Agatha at mabilis namin syang nakuhanan ng urine sample kaya hindi kami gaanong na late sa check-in time.

We stayed in a cozy glamping dome na napapalibutan ng mga puno at halaman. It really did feel like you could relax and recharge. They are located on the other side of the resort kaya no need to worry about the crowd kasi malayo naman sya sa in-house restaurants, swimming pools, and attractions. May exclusive pool din pala for checked-in guests though maliit lang sya.

They welcomed us with complimentary treats like iced teas and fruits which I really appreciated. Who doesn't love surprises diba. I hope more hotels and resorts, not just the high-end ones, would do this. It may seem like a small gesture but it made me feel more welcome.

The bed was comfortable and the air-conditioning was working well kaya we had no problem staying in our room all day. Agatha just wanted to be nursed and rest in bed at wala din sya sa mood magpa-picture.

That evening lumabas kami para mag dinner in one of their restaurants called Izanami. Not only do they serve Japanese food, but they also feature teppanyaki which is a Japanese style of cooking where the chef grills food on a large, flat iron plate called a teppan. Yaki means grilled or pan-fried.

The teppanyaki was absolutely entertaining lalo na sa mga batang kasama namin. They even got to participate by cracking eggs with the chef. We were served fried rice, veggies, meat, etc. I don't know what they're called basta masarap lahat. We also ate ramen and rice bowls.

Since Agatha didn't eat much, binilhan ko nalang sya ng fries sa cafe habang nanonood ng live band. Kumain naman sya kahit papano. Kami naman ni dadi Cy nag-coffee. She wasn't really feeling well that even her lola couldn't convince her to stroll around kaya tumambay lang kami saglit tapos bumalik na kaming mag-anak sa kwarto para makapagpahinga na si Agatha.

The next morning they served our breakfast on the lanai, just a few steps from our glamping dome. Cy had tapsilog, sakin naman bangsilog and we added omelet and toast for Agatha. Okay naman ung food except sa tapa na mahirap nguyain. Agatha was still not feeling well and had no appetite but thankfully uminom pa din sya ng electrolyte drink.

Pagkatapos kumain, tumambay nalang ulit kami sa kwarto habang nagsswimming ung iba.

At bago umuwi I took all the remaining toiletries home because why not. Haha. :)
