DADI'S 37TH BIRTHDAY IN BAGUIO CITY: PART ONE

Birthdays have always been our chance to go out of town, lalo na ngayong may anak na kami, we want to create as many fun memories as we can with our daughter. She may be too young to remember, but one day we can reminisce about our adventures together through this blog. Madami din benefits sa baby ang pagpunta kung saan-saan since they will be exposed to different sounds, smells and sights.

This year for my husband's 37th birthday, we went to Baguio. Parati kasi kaming may kasama pag napunta doon kaya we wanted it to be just the three of us this time.

From Tagaytay it only took us around 6 hours drive to reach Baguio City. Finally, naabutan din namin na bukas ang Kennon Road kaya our first stop was the Lion's Head.

Either ito or strawberry taho. It tasted really fresh.

After our quick stopover sa Lion's Head we went straight to Hotel Henrico Kisad where we stayed for three days and two nights.

Their standard room for 2 pax is only priced at 1,510 pesos per night. If you prefer a quiet neighborhood na walking distance lang from Burnham Park & Harrison Road then this hotel is a good option.

She was so mesmerized by the digital fireplace.

They let us check in an hour early kaya nailagay na namin mga gamit sa kwarto bago mag lunch sa restaurant nila. I love its' simplicity and coziness. After I took photos sunod-sunod na dating ng mga guests para kumain.

Di parin namin pinapakain ng regular table food si Agatha kaya kapag nasa galaan kami we bring her ready-to-eat baby purees. I like this particular brand (Rudolfs) lasang homemade. Buti nalang bumalik na appetite nya after tumubo nung first set of teeth nya kaya hindi na nasasayang mga dala naming pagkain pag nasa galaan kami. Sa bahay naman she eats plenty of mashed vegetables. Ung kanin hindi pa sya sanay lunukin.

Their in-house resto offers plenty of choices on the menu. May appetizers, soups, salad, pizza, sandwiches, entrees, chicken wings, bucket of shrimps, desserts, beverages like coffee and milkshakes. We ordered the pulled pork bowl and grilled teriyaki chicken that were both filling.

Cy and Agatha took a nap then at 4 pm lumabas na kami ng hotel para magpunta sa Burnham Park. Pababa ng hotel to main road was steep kaya we were extra careful sa paghawak sa stroller ni Agatha.

The long pathway going to Burnham Park is pedestrian-friendly, hindi buwis buhay ang pagtutulak ng stroller.

After 15 minutes we reached one of the most popular destinations in Baguio City: the Burnham Park. Weekday palang nyan but there were so many people riding bikes.

Glad that there were picnic chairs available kaya kumain muna kami ng merienda like egg drop sandwich and fried bao from Yolk.

There was also a vendor selling ube and strawberry ice scramble kaya bumili din kami, at pwedeng icombine two flavors in one cup.

After our quick merienda naglakad na kami paikot sa famous Burnham Lagoon, a man-made lake na madaming maliliit na bangka for rent.

Ate Sharon charged me 250 for 30 minutes.

Wish us luck!

At dahil nasa Baguio kami we couldn't skip dinner at GoodTaste Restaurant.

Madami silang choices for Combo Meals ranging from 165 pesos to 225 pesos lang, at yung serving nya grabe nakakabusog.

And that's our first day in Baguio City. :)
