SAN JUAN, LA UNION 2022: PART TWO

Second day in La Union!

Plano sana namin mag almusal sa Masa Bakehouse, a popular cafe in La Union pero sarado na pala sila since August 15 to relocate. Next option was El Union Coffee pero closed sila tuwing Wednesday. Kakaloka!

I prepared an itinerary pa naman kung san-san kami kakain during our stay in La Union pero parating sarado tulad kagabi, hindi kami nakapag "nightlife" in Flotsam and Jetsam. lol

Clean Beach

We walked by the beach para maghanap ng breakfast place and ended up finding this quiet beachfront cafe called Clean Beach.

Nung nakita ko ung al fresco area nila I knew dito na kami mag aalmusal. The place just blends with nature, ang sarap ng hangin and the view of the ocean napakaganda.

It's a self-service cafe. You have to grabe a pen and paper to write what you want to order and hand it sa barista. Even after kumain lalagay mo ung mga utensils sa isang corner para dun kukunin ng mga staff nila. Hindi pwedeng burara dito.

After breakfast bumalik na agad kami sa hostel kasi wala talaga kaming ibang maisip pang gawin. Buti nalang may pa-Netflix sa Rada.

Around 1 pm lumabas ulit kami para naman mag lunch sa Kabsat, another popular food destination in La Union.

Since we visited on a weekday iilan lang mga occupied na mesa. We sat in one of the high top tables facing the ocean para masulit ang view habang kumakain. Medyo mainit nga lang ung hangin lalo na sa mukha pero keri lang. Pamaypay is the key.

Ang sarap ng Bagnet Kare-Kare! Nakuha nya ung lasa ng peanut stew na hinahanap ko. The serving size is good for two pax... or three? lol

The Grilled Pampano was meaty, tasty and juicy. Mas madami pa ata akong nakain na isda kesa sa bagnet. Ang sarap kasi lalo na inihaw.

We also bought mango shakes kasi nga mainit ang panahon. Cheers!

After lunch bumalik ulit kami sa hostel. Ganito lang buhay dito puro lamon, surf at chill.

Around 3 PM nagyaya na akong pumunta sa tabi ng dagat kasi wala ng init ng araw. Maulan na!

Ibang level ung excitement ko nung nakita ako ung sunod sunod na malalaking alon tapos madilim at maulan ang eksena. Ewan ko ba haha.

Anyways, ang plano is mag-surf lesson ako for the first time kaso natakot ako ng slight. What if tatanga-tanga ako to the highest level ganern. So niyaya ko muna si Cy mag merienda sa Seabuds while I mentally prepare. Sakto naman gusto ko matry ung smoothie bowl nila na napapanood ko sa YouTube. Hehe.

Seabuds is located inside San Juan Surf Resort property. They serve vegan food and drinks like plant-based rice meals and smoothie bowls.

Nag coffee lang si Cy tapos ako naman nag smoothie. I tried their bestseller Funky Monkey Bowl which is made of raw cacao, banana and homemade peanut butter.

Super cute ng Funky Monkey Smoothie Bowl! Hindi mo talaga mapipigilang kuhanan ng picture. Yung nasa ibabaw nya chia seeds, slices of banana, coconut shreds, cacao nibs and granola. Their bowl is enough for two persons.

After kumain nag swimming ako ng very quick then finally approached one of the surf instructors para magpaturo. Ayaw ni Cy kaya ako nalang.

Their surf lesson is priced at 500 pesos per hour. Kuya Angelo taught me the parts of surfboard and the proper posture before the actual surfing.

Nag enjoy ako sa pagsalubong sa mga malalaking alon habang nakadapa sa surfboard. Kelangan daw kasi namin antayin ung maayos na wave kaya medyo matagal din bawat interval. After three or four tries tumigil na ako. lol. Kakapagod pala sya! Para na din akong nag workout.

After surfing nagbabad na rin si Cy sa tubig until 5:30 PM.

At 7 PM lumabas na ulit kami ng Rada para mag dinner. We went to Seafoodoro Crates located in Tavern by the Sea.

Their Seafoodoro Boodle comes with rice, chicken & pork adobo, tahong, shrimp and crabs. In fairness nag enjoy kami sa boodle nila. Ang sarap ng classic adobo sauce!

After dinner naghanap kami ng coffee shop para mag kape naman.
