SINGAPORE 2019: DAY 1 & DAY 2

Finally, I was able to join the annual Singapore trip with my in-laws. It was my first out of the country trip, so I was overexcited... and anxious because of the immigration process. I was really apprehensive about getting offloaded even if I was traveling with my husband. Thank God I made it to the boarding gate!

It was roughly a 4 hours flight to Singapore so I was glad Cy and I downloaded our favorite shows on Netflix. We were able to binge-watch shows during the entire flight.

We arrived at Changi Airport past midnight.

Hello, Singapore!!!

Got our maps after we passed thru their immigration.

Cy bought a Singtel hi!SIM card at the airport before heading to our hotel.

We stayed here for 5 days! Our room was on the 21st floor.

The hotel toiletries. There was also a loofah scrub in the shower area.

DAY 1

The bed was comfortable to sleep on, though I only slept for 4 hours. Whenever I'm on a vacation, I try to wake up as early as possible so I won't waste time. Hehehe By the way, we mainly went to Singapore for the 2-day Philweddings Bridal Fair.

The bridal fair would start at 1 pm, so we had plenty of time for breakfast and chill at the hotel.

Danish Pastries and Croissant at Coleman's Cafe where we had our daily buffet breakfast.

No sign of rice.

Coffee!!!

I borrowed the iron and ironing board from the housekeeping. We could only use it an hour at a time so ironed all our clothes!

My least favorite task. T_T

Finally, the time came for me to explore Singapore! It was hot and humid outside but I was in a different country and quite thrilled, so I couldn't care less!

Cy used Google Maps to locate Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre where the bridal fair was held. It took us 15-20 minutes by walk from our hotel. Singapore was noticeably modern and clean!

There it is!

On the way to the exhibit.

Lunch time!!! I was excited to try Indian food.

"quick lunch" meal from Saravanaa Bhavan, all vegetarian. More or less $8.00

You wouldn't be given any tissue or paper towel sa mga food court nila kaya make sure to bring one. They encourage people to wash hands instead.

My mother-in-law let us leave early. My husband's friend, Joseph, who has been working in Singapore for 8 years now invited us for dinner. We went back to the hotel and changed our outfit to a more laid-back one.

We met them at our hotel lobby and then went straight to Makansutra Gluttons Bay. Grab car was a convenient way to get around Singapore.

Please excuse the spoon floating on the soup, I didn't notice it. Hehehe

After our filling (and free) meal, Joseph and his wife toured us around the bay area until Clarke Quay where the nightlife was totally lit! Char!

Salamat sa libreng dinner! <3

It was already 1 am when we got back to the hotel. I slept soundly that night.

DAY 2

I woke up early the next day despite the lack of enough sleep.

My breakfast: Baked beans, perfectly scrambled eggs, hash browns, and toasted bread with orange marmalade

It was the last day of the Bridal Fair. Cy and I planned to visit Little India in Singapore, so we left the hotel early. All we did was walk, walk, walk.

Across the street was the Central Fire Station. So cute!

We passed by the National Archives of Singapore, the First Botanic Garden at Armenian Street, and the National Museum of Singapore.

"Green Man" button on every pedestrian crossing.

And finally, we arrived at the colorful Little India.

We were looking for the Tekka Centre to check out the food stalls. There were so many shops selling gold accessories along the stretch of this road (but I didn't take pictures because it wasn't allowed).

A ceremony in one of the temples.

We didn't take into consideration that it was a Sunday. Tekka Centre was jam-packed that I couldn't even take pictures of food. We just scanned thru the food stalls and left.

We were already tired and hungry from walking when we reached Bugis street.

One of the most popular shopping destinations in Singapore if you're looking for murang pasalubong.

We tried Thai food. I ordered the Thai Omelette with Rice which was soooo good, it has fresh basil leaves, and Cy ordered the Spicy Beef with Rice. We also tried the Tom Yum Soup. Sobrang sarap! If you're obsessed with sinigang, then you should definitely try Tom Yum!

After our hearty meal, we continued walking to Suntec.

Glad I bought one. You need this here.

We made it to Suntec on time. I bought a milk tea!

We left Suntec at almost 9 pm and ate dinner in one of the seafood buffet restaurants.

To be continued... :)
